How to book

Online booking
If you have previously purchased tickets for the Edinburgh International Festival or with Hub Tickets you will have an existing account. Please click on My Festival at the top of the site and enter your registered email address when prompted.


Access information

People with access needs can buy a seat in the area of the venue most appropriate for their needs for the lowest (unrestricted view) ticket price available for that performance. If you require assistance to attend, your essential companion’s ticket will be free. Access discounts are only available by phone, in person or by using SignLive to allow us to provide you with the best possible service for your needs.

Ticket collection 

Tickets can be sent as an e-ticket, collected from Hub Tickets (address above) in advance or picked up at the venue from one hour before the start of the performance. 

A transaction fee of £1 per ticket, up to a maximum of £5, will be added to all bookings. If you choose to receive your tickets in the post, you will be charged £1 for postage.


Ticket refunds  

Once booked, tickets cannot be returned. 

Discounts and Special Offers

Concessions

Continuing our 2018 Year of Young People commitment to welcome young audiences, we offer a 50% discount if you are under 18 and a 25% discount if you are 26 or under. A student discount of 50% is available.

Concessions are subject to availability and exclude top-price tickets. Proof of eligibility is required at point of sale and may be requested at venues.

Under 18s, Young Scot Card holders and European Youth Card holders get 50% off tickets for selected performances. 

Students get 50% off on selected performances. Tickets are subject to availability and allocations may be limited per performance. Discount is not guaranteed until the transaction has completed. 


Special Offers

All special offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. Where relevant, proof of age or eligibility is required at point of sale.

Senior citizens, arts workers employed within Scotland, and registered unemployed get 30% off tickets for selected performances. The discount is available now, for a limited time only.

Tickets are subject to availability and allocations may be limited per performance. Discount is not guaranteed until the transaction has completed. 

How to redeem
Tickets can be booked by phone, online and in person. When booking online, choose your seat and select the discount offer ticket price on the pop-up menu. If the discount offer does not appear, it may not available for the selected performance or ticket price. Exclusions apply and will be detailed on each individual event page in the discounts tab.

Terms and Conditions
To be eligible for the senior citizen discount you must be aged 60 or older.

To be eligible for the unemployed discount you must be registered for Job Seeker’s Allowance.

To be eligible for the Scottish arts workers discount you must be living and working in Scotland and have a valid membership of an entertainment union (BECTU, MU, Equity or Scottish Society of Playwrights) or a valid staff pass from a publicly funded arts organisation.

To apply the bundle discount, please select the relevant option when booking. All tickets must be purchased at the same time and not as individual performances. The offer is only available at time of booking.


£8 on the day

If you are under 26 years of age or if you receive Universal Credit, you can get tickets for only £8 on the day for selected performances. Only available in person from Hub Tickets. Proof of eligibility is required at point of sale.

Safety and Security

Arrive at venues in plenty of time as latecomers may not be admitted.

Your safety and security at International Festival events is of the utmost importance to us. Please note that bags may be subject to security searches and you should not bring bags larger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm to our venues. No larger bags (or similar) will be allowed into the venue. Cloakroom facilities vary across venues, so please plan accordingly.

If you spot anything suspicious during your visit to the International Festival, please do let a member of the team know.
