The Edinburgh International Festival hosts two special events in the Scottish Parliament for the first time in 2023, in partnership with the Festival of Politics.
The Scottish Parliament building is located in the Holyrood area of central Edinburgh at the foot of the Royal Mile, on Horse Wynd, opposite the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

- The nearest public cycle racks are located next to the Holyrood Lodge house building on Horse Wynd.
- Bus stop (Scottish Parliament): Lothian Buses 35
- There are also several open top tour buses which make regular stops at the Parliament.
- There are a number of other bus routes a short walking distance away. You can find details of all local bus services from Traveline Scotland.
- The Parliament building is a 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride from Edinburgh Waverley train station. Information about train services to and from Edinburgh is available from National Rail.
- The nearest car parks are St John’s Hill or adjacent to Waverley Station, via New Street.
- A small number of public parking spaces are reserved for disabled people on Horse Wynd.
- If you require to be dropped off or collected when visiting the Scottish Parliament you can use the turning circle at Dynamic Earth.
- All public areas have level access
- Wheelchairs and lightweight portable seating are available for use inside the building from the Visitor Information Desk. Wheelchairs can be reserved by contacting Visitor Services
Blue Badge disabled parking is available on Horse Wynd, opposite the Parliament's main public entrance. Spaces are not bookable in advance as they’re managed by the City of Edinburgh Council
Visitors with mobility access needs can use the Horse Wynd Parking spaces or the Dynamic Earth turning circle as a pick up and drop off point
- Accessible toilets and Changing Places toilet are available
- Hearing loops are fitted throughout the public areas
- Audio enhancement headsets can be requested from the Visitor Information Desk
- Box Office has low counter and loop system
- Assistance dogs are welcome and can be looked after by venue staff
- Braille is present on signage throughout the building
