About Beanbag Concerts

Experience the thrill of live orchestral music from the comfort of a beanbag. Inspired by conductor and composer Iván Fischer, our beanbag concerts offer an up-close encounter with world-class musicians, creating an intimate and informal setting for classical music.

Whether you’re flying solo or bringing friends and family, connect with fellow music lovers and feel the energy of a shared musical experience having explored this alternative way for enjoying live music.

Our beanbag series kicks off with Opening Concert: The Veil of The Temple, transforming Usher Hall into a sanctuary for John Tavener’s eight-hour magnum opus.

Discover Dmitri Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony as you’ve never experienced it before in Shostakovich Inside Out. Recline on a beanbag as you listen to the symphony from the inside out, as the Aurora Orchestra and founder-conductor Nicholas Collon guides you through.

There’s another chance to hear Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony – this time from start to finish. From the vantage point of a beanbag, join the Aurora Orchestra in a programme that also includes works by Bernhard Schimpelsberger and Abel Selaocoe.

Experience a world premiere on a beanbag with Breaking Bach, where classical music meets hip hop and contemporary dance.

Standard seating in the stalls or balcony is available for all beanbag concerts.
