Thank You, Edinburgh: Princes Street Gardens
Enjoy a livestreamed concert from The Philadelphia Orchestra in the picturesque Princes Street Gardens, as we celebrate our 75th anniversary and thank all those who've supported us and our community.
A special free afternoon concert to celebrate the Festival’s 75th anniversary, given in a spirit of gratitude to all those whose hard work, encouragement and friendship supported our community through the worst of the pandemic.
The concert will be relayed live to the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens from the Edinburgh Playhouse. The first 100 people to attend the live unticketed relay in the Gardens will receive a free snack pack, supplied by the International Festival’s official partners The Pantry and Bon Accord. Seats will be available from 2pm at the Ross Bandstand.
Please note that this event is outdoors, so do dress appropriately for the changeable Edinburgh weather! We recommend wearing shoes that are suitable for uneven ground.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin, conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra, has created a special family-friendly programme that includes, among others, beloved arias from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Gianni Schicchi, the finale of Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony and Carlos Simon’s Fate Now Conquers, inspired by an entry from Beethoven’s journal.
