Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti is one of the most thrilling, engaging musicians around today – and a regular and much-admired performer at International Festival concerts for many years.

Joined by Edinburgh’s own Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Benedetti is the soloist in one of the violin repertoire’s most exquisite creations: Bruch’s G minor Concerto. Blending quicksilver energy, sparkling wit and heartfelt melody, it regularly – and understandably – tops polls of the most popular classical pieces.

As the SCO’s Principal Conductor since 2019, Maxim Emelyanychev has marked himself out as one of the most vibrant, dynamic musicians working in the UK today, leading supercharged performances that find fiery new perspectives on much-loved music. Alongside Bruch’s sumptuous Concerto, he conducts selections from one of his compatriot Tchaikovsky’s best-loved works: the magical musical storytelling of The Sleeping Beauty.
