Niteworks: Comann

This celebratory performance closes our Leith Theatre series in a joyful collaboration between artists from the Gaelic music scene.

Electronic-Gaelic fusion group Niteworks are joined by Scots singer Beth Malcolm, Gaelic vocal trio Sian and string players from Kinnaris Quintet for a special performance celebrating the Gaelic music scene.

Niteworks combines traditional Scottish music with pulsing electronic beats. The quartet of Ruairidh Graham, Allan MacDonald, Christopher Nicolson and Innes Strachan create a captivating combination of haunting Gaelic songs with thumping basslines and stirring bagpipes that's sure to get the Leith Theatre crowd dancing.

Formed in 2016 with the aim of spotlighting Gaelic songs composed by women, vocal trio Sian blend distinctly rugged and soulful harmonies with striking melodic power. Sell-out 2021 Festival performers Kinnaris Quintet draw from a wide range of folk traditions and classical music to create an excitingly unique sound. Perthshire born singer-songwriter and keyboardist Beth Malcolm has been recognised by The Scotsman as ‘one to watch’ for 2022 and has already collaborated with Ross Ainslie, Siobhan Miller and Talisk.
