Members of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus
The Edinburgh Festival Chorus returns in smaller form, with a concert as wide-ranging as in previous years.
The Edinburgh Festival Chorus has provided the backbone of the International Festival’s choral programme for more than 50 years. Though the pandemic months have been a particularly challenging time for all singing, the Festival Chorus returns as a small chamber choir under Chorus Director Aidan Oliver in a concert of varied music by Tallis, Britten, Holst, Errollyn Wallen and Abbie Betinis.
Over the years, the Chorus's singers have had the opportunity to perform alongside the likes of Leonard Bernstein and the London Symphony Orchestra, Marin Alsop and the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, Herbert von Karajan’s Berlin Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This year’s International Festival performance promises to be just as exhilarating as their last.
