European Union Youth Orchestra: Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra
BEANBAG CONCERT SERIES
Discover exactly how a live orchestra works, by taking a sneak peek behind the scenes.
This is your chance to explore the inner workings of the instruments in the grand ensemble.
Perfect for music newcomers and experts alike, Benjamin Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra takes you on a tour through the groups of instruments, highlighting their different sounds and abilities.
The beginning of The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra dates back to the 17th century, with Henry Purcell’s music for a tragic play called Abdelazer. While Abdelazer has long disappeared from our stages, The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra is still in high demand.
This guide is led by conductor Gianandrea Noseda and played by the talented young musicians of the European Union Youth Orchestra. Find a beanbag, kick back, and hear the orchestra at its fullest power.
