Chilly Gonzales
Animated by his collaborations with Jarvis Cocker, Feist and Daft Punk, musical maverick Chilly Gonzales steps out onto the stage with his brand-new show, GONZO.
Canadian piano virtuoso Jason Beck is best known as Chilly Gonzales, his charismatic and entertaining alter-ego. Chilly Gonzales is as well known for his intimate approach to the piano through his Piano album trilogy as for his undeniable talents as a showman in concerts that combine his classical training with a natural comedic flair. He has collaborated with the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Feist, Drake and Daft Punk.
Leaving the light-heartedness of recent projects – like French Kiss – behind, GONZO marks a comeback to his English language roots, with a nod to his adoptive country Germany. Brazen in its approach, GONZO speaks openly about what’s been on this musical maverick’s mind without ever losing a sense of melody.
After teaming up with Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker at the 2017 International Festival, Chilly Gonzales returns to our stage with the UK premiere of GONZO.
Arrive early at Usher Hall to enjoy a pop-up performance from Rainbow Ukes and Southside Strummers 6-7.30pm.
