Mahan Esfahani
Iranian-American harpsichordist performs music by d’Anglebert, JS Bach and WF Bach, on the Hall’s exquisite 1769 double-manual Taskin harpsichord.
One of early music’s starriest names, Iranian-American harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani is also one of its most compelling musicians. He has charmed and captivated audiences worldwide with his bristling musical intellect, as well as the astonishing technical brilliance of his playing. He brings often provocatively fresh perspectives on iconic Baroque repertoire, as well as more recent works, in performances of remarkable expressive freedom. For his special St Cecilia’s Hall recital he performs music by d’Anglebert, JS Bach and WF Bach, on the Hall’s exquisite 1769 double-manual Taskin harpsichord.
