Modigliani Quartet

Wit, elegance and Gallic sophistication come together in the playing of one of today’s most exciting younger string quartets. Founded in Paris in 2003, the Modigliani Quartet has a well-established international reputation based on its powerful, persuasive performances.

Beethoven String Quartet in C minor Op 18 No 4
Ravel String Quartet in F
Dohnányi String Quartet No 3 in A minor

For their Festival debut recital, the four Modigliani players perform Beethoven’s dramatic C minor Quartet, Op 18 No 4, and the richly expressive, gritty Third Quartet by Hungarian composer Ernö Dohnányi, alongside the seductive subtleties of their compatriot Ravel’s stylish String Quartet in F major.

This concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3
