Our digital programme offers audiences around the world the opportunity to discover artists from the International Festival at home for free. In partnership with abrdn, our At Home series showcases world-class performers from across our programme of classical music, dance, theatre and opera.

We commissioned Glasgow-based production company Forest of Black to produce five short films in unique Edinburgh locations, each creating an intimate portrait of an artist featured in this year’s Festival programme. Audiences will experience bespoke performances from Edinburgh Makar Hannah Lavery, Ukrainian soprano Liudmyla Monastyrska, British pianist and conductor Wayne Marshall, Australian didgeridoo virtuoso William Barton, and Scottish Ballet performing a new commission choreographed by Nicholas Shoesmith. Locations ranged from the ancient winding city streets to the wild Salisbury Crags and the historic Palace of Holyroodhouse.

During this year’s Festival, three concerts were captured at broadcast quality, including the sold-out Brandenburg Concertos, performed in the Queen's Hall by Richard Egarr and a specially assembled ensemble. From the Usher Hall, there's our concert performance of Handel's Saul, for which soloists Neal Davies and Iestyn Davies joined period-instrument orchestra The English Concert to take on this masterpiece of Baroque vocal music. Finally, in the joyfully epic Closing Concert the Royal Scottish National Orchestra played Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius under the baton of Sir Andrew Davies, with performances from the Edinburgh Festival Chorus and the National Youth Choir of Scotland.

We've also got a series of exclusive music sessions captured backstage throughout the Festival to share with you, featuring: a vivid and passionate performance from the Takács Quartet, early-music pioneer Jordi Savall with members of his Hespèrion XXI ensemble, Gaelic vocal trio Sian performing as part of Niteworks: Comann, Iranian classical musician Aref Ghorbani in collaboration with the Scottish Refugee Council, the Scottish indie rock duo Arab Strap, and piper Brìghde Chaimbeul.
